Primary Structural Components

(a)Main Frames

(i)PHX Continuous Beam

This system builds on the rigid frame concept by incorporating intermediate support columns, enabling greater building widths and more economical designs. It typically offers a lower cost per square foot and provides interior column spacing of 66 feet or more. Suitable for any width or eave height, this system is ideal for large production or storage facilities.

(ii)PHX Lean-To

This structure consists of a column and a single sloping rafter. One end of the rafter is supported by an adjacent building, while the other is supported by a column. With its single slope or pitch, the frame relies partially on the adjacent structure for support. It provides an open, unobstructed interior space with peaked, single-slope, and lean-to roof configurations, capable of spanning up to 30 meters.

(iii)PHX Rigid Frame

Steel frames consist of two columns and two sloped beams, known as rafters, which support the building's roof. This design creates a stable structure that serves as the foundation for placing sheeting to form the building. The PHX rigid frame features a clear-span design, characterized by tapered columns, tapered haunches, and rafter beams. This system is ideal for customers seeking an economical, column-free space, providing flexibility in plant layouts and offering a potential clear span of up to 100 meters.

(iv)PHX Deck Frame

Deck sheet components are designed for multi-storey buildings, offering solutions for mezzanine floors and membrane roof applications with superior aesthetics. Standard panels serve as formwork (shuttering) for mezzanine floors and can also function as deck panels over which concrete is poured. This type of structure improves the speed and cost-efficiency of steel floor construction.

(b)Rafters

We manufacture both solid web and open web rafters for our pre-engineered buildings (PEBs). Rafters serve as the primary structural components of the roof system, functioning as horizontal or sloped beams that span the building's width and form part of the main frame. They support the roof covering and transfer roof loads—including the weight of the roof, wind forces, and other environmental pressures—to the columns or side walls of the building.

(c)End-Wall Posts

End-wall posts are vertical structural elements located at the ends of a building, forming an integral part of the end-wall framing system. These posts support walls that often include doors, windows, and other openings. They also enhance the structure's overall stability by providing load support and resistance to weather and wind.

Secondary Structural Components

(a)Eave Struts

Their primary function is to support the gutters while also serving as a junction between the roof and the wall cladding.

(b)Purlins and Girts

Purlins and girts are structural components placed under the roof, walls, and perimeter of a pre-engineered building (PEB), providing essential support for roof sheeting and wall cladding. Our company offers two types: (i) PHX-Zees and (ii) PHX-Cees, with depths ranging from 165 to 300 millimeters and thicknesses from 1.5 to 3.15 millimeters.

A purlin is a secondary, cold-formed horizontal structural member located in the roof, supporting roof panels, which in turn are supported by the primary structural framing. Similarly, a girt is a secondary member, typically cold-formed, that overlaps the outside column flange to form a continuous structural component.

(c)Open Web Joists

These are long-span, load-bearing components designed to directly support floors and roof decks in buildings. Open web joists are fabricated structural members commonly used in mezzanine structures. They consist of top and bottom chords connected by a web of diagonal and vertical steel members, forming a truss-like structure.

(d)Cable/ Angle/ Rod Bracing Tube

These components are designed to ensure the stability of the building against longitudinal forces caused by wind and earthquakes. Bracings are installed and tensioned to prevent the building from swaying and to maintain the proper alignment of primary structural members.

Additional Components

(a)Crane beams

Crane beams are structural components designed to support crane gliders and enable crane movement. We have extensive experience in detailing and supplying crane beams capable of supporting cranes with spans of over 300 meters.

(b)Fascias and Canopies

Fascias are exterior surfaces installed on buildings to enhance their aesthetic appeal. A fascia can take the form of a decorative trim or a panel projecting from the face of a wall. A canopy is an overhanging structure or roof projection designed to provide shelter over openings in the side or end walls. Our company's Staruniversal division offers fascias ranging from 1.2 meters to 1.8 meters in height and canopies ranging from 0.3 meters to 10 meters in width.

(c)Mezzanines

Mezzanines act as intermediate floors between the main levels of a building. This type of structure typically includes a mezzanine column, mezzanine beam, and mezzanine joist, all of which support the deck panel over which concrete is poured.

Pecialty Roofing Systems (interlock 360)

We manufacture a specialized roofing system that eliminates the need for screws. This leak-proof system features interlocking panels with a 360° mechanical seam. It is a fully seamed roof, profiled with a seamed ridge cap to enhance weather tightness and rigidity at the roof apex. The roofing system includes a high rib of 3 inches, offering superior sectional properties that provide greater strength and facilitate faster water drainage. An on-line sealant application ensures weather-tightness at the seams after installation. Additionally, a movable clip allows for free expansion and contraction of the roof due to thermal effects.

Accessories

We externally source purchased components used in pre-engineered buildings (PEBs), including fasteners, TUF-dome lite, sliding doors, mastic doors, walk-away doors, insulation, glazing windows, roof curbs, fixed ventilators, roof jacks, turbo vents, roll-up doors, and ridge vent sealants.
